Royal Patron of the national Society: HRH The Prince of Wales, KG, KT, GCB
Sewell House is a large Victorian double-fronted former family residence, converted to the highest standards and providing accommodation for seven residents. It is a residential home for the elderly who can still manage on their own but need much more manageable surroundings. |

Prospective residents meet with a member of the local Society
to discuss whether living in Abbeyfield is appropriate to their
needs. Priority is usually given to those who are lonely and would
benefit from the companionship of living in an Abbeyfield house.
Ages range between 65 to 100+ with the majority usually
being in their 70s and 80s at entry.

Charges are fixed by the local Society and the rates compare very favourably with commercial sheltered accommodation. Room rates are designed so that the House is financially self-supporting with provision for repairs and further development.
