Hospital Chaplaincy

CIRENCESTER  HOSPITAL CHAPLAINCY
The Chapel in Cirencester Hospital is used by staff, patients and visitors as a place of peace and quietness in the midst of the hustle and bustle that is constantly going on outside its doors. Volunteers on the Chaplaincy team visit the patients at least once a week. A celebration of Holy Communion is held at 10.30am on Tuesdays, and the interdenominational service at 10am every Sunday is recorded and broadcast to the wards over the hospital radio.  The aumbry, generously given by the League of Friends, has already proved to be a valuable addition to the Chapel.  When the new carpet was recently laid, the altar was moved to the front of the raised area. The presiding minister is now able to conduct the communion service from behind the altar, facing the congregation. The updating of the microphone system has not yet taken place.  We thank God for the privilege of being involved in the work of the chaplaincy and for His guidance and blessing.

Volunteers to join the visiting team or to accompany patients to the services are always welcome. Anyone interested should contact Jackie Holdsworth, the  Hospital Volunteer Organizer on 655***, or the Parish Office.
