About Us
Our Parish consists of three Anglican churches, the Parish Church of St John Baptist, Holy Trinity Church, Watermoor and St Lawrence Church Centre, Chesterton.
We currently have a team of six clergy and two Lay Readers who take services at all three churches and visit the various care homes in the parish. Another member of the team is responsible for children and young people's work. Many members of the congregation take on all sorts of reponsibilities for activities and events across the parish.
A toddler group meets every Thursday in the Parish Church. Entitled 'Little Angels' the group is usually led by one of the clergy team and there is a chance to meet with others and share in the experience of the Parish Church.
Each year a series of talks is planned across a variety of subjects connected with Christian belief. With the title 'School of Faith' it offers sessions in the parish meeting rooms or in other churches in the area. There are booklets in all churches, so do pick one up and take it with you. There is a booking form on the back page or one that can be returned by email from this website.
We are always looking for volunteers to help steward the Parish Church and to welcome visitors from around the world. So if you would be willing to give up some time during a week to help with this part of parish life we would be very pleased to hear from you. Do contact the Parish Administrator at the Parish Office.
If helping in the Corner Stone book and coffee shop is more to your liking then please call in and see the manager or her deputy who will be pleased to explain what is involved. This aspect also covers looking after the shop in the Parish Church.
Whether you visit for a service, attend a concert, are visiting to admire the architecture, are here to learn something of the history of the Parish, or simply to spend time in quiet, we pray that you will feel nearer to God and enjoy His peace.
Please take time to explore the links on this site to see the many activities and events that go on within this historic and busy parish.
